Anita Stroud Foundation Board of Directors

Tim Mills, Chairperson of the Board - Tim Mills is a native Charlottean and a product of the CMS school system having graduated from West Mecklenburg High School. He is also a graduate of UNCC where he majored in Civil Engineering. After graduation, Tim Joined AT&T where he has worked in a number of capacities including network engineering. Tim has been on the ASF Board since 1994 and previously served as Secretary. He has led a number of initiatives for ASF including a park design as well as starting a computer lab in partnership with Microsoft and Charlotte Mecklenburg library. Tim looks forward to the challenge of proving opportunities for the gifted children that ASF serves. His mission is to provide growth opportunities for the students while creating a learning environment across a full spectrum of disciplines.

H. Michael Schreibman, Vice Chairman - Michael Schreibman was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama and has lived in Charlotte, NC for thirty-two years He has been a member of the Anita Stroud Board of Directors since 1985 and has served as both Chairman an Vice Chairman of the Board. He just recently retired after thirty-six in the scrap metal industry. He is currently enjoying retirement and taking it easy.

 

Fran Farrer-Nash Secretary - Fran Farrer-Nash has been a member of the Anita Stroud Foundation Board of Directors for about twelve years. As a member, she has served as both the Chair of Fundrasing and currently serves as the Board Secretary. She is also Publisher/CEO of The County News newspaper located in Statesville NC, and was formerly Advertising & Marketing Director of The Charlotte Post Newspaper.

 

Allan Oxman, Assistant Treasurer - Allan Oxman has been an Anita Stroud Foundation Board Member for 20 years. During that time he has served as both Assistant Treasurer & Treasurer. He is a local Charlotte insurance broker and financial planner.


Peggy Beckwith - Peggy Beckwith, now retired, was Executive Director of Sickle Cell Disease of Southern Piedmont, Inc. for thirty-five years. She has been affiliated with the Minority Affairs Advisory Committee for Meccklenburg County and is a co-founder of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women Club - Charlotte Club. Among her many recogniations are awards for her contributions in the area of sickle cell. She has been a Board of Director of the Anita Stroud Foundation for the for the last few years.

 

Darrel J. Williams
Darrel J Williams Sr., FAIA - Darrel Williams is a principal in the architectural firm, Neighboring Concepts, located in Charlotte. Darrel has been a member of the Anita Stroud Board of Directors for more than five years and his firm is involved with numerous projects to improve the quality of life around the Charlotte area.

W. Pete Cunningham, Emeritus Chairperson of the Board - William Pete Cunningham was a Democratic member of the North Carolina General Assembly representing the 107th House district, including constituents in Mecklenburg county. He resigned on December 31, 2007 in his 11th term. Pete worked with Robert F. Williams and the Monroe County chapter of the NAACP in the 50s and 60s. He served in the US Navy, (Ret.) for 16 years, (Submarine) US Army Paratrooper for 4 years. He is currently a real estate investor in Charlotte, North Carolina. Pete Cunningham served as Chairperson of the Anita Stroud Foundation for about ten years and has been a board for about thirteen years.
