This is a short excerpt of the thirty-seven minute documentary; "You Can Be Somebody", The Legacy of Anita Stroud. The documentary was made to provide a visual historical record of the life and legacy of a poor black woman in Charlotte, NC, who for around forty years opened up her heart and home to hundreds of neighborhood children and taught them to believe they could "Be Somebody". The Anita Stroud Foundation is diligently working to spread the word about "Miss Neet", as she was respectfully called, and the work of the Foundation that bears her name. The Foundation, through the Anita Stroud Youth Development Center, operates an after-school program in the same area that Miss Stroud lived, serving the youth of the Charlotte community with academic enrichment programs.

We are striving, with your support, to continue to nurture the heritage of Anita Stroud and serve the youth so that they might become productive citizens and mentors for the future. We need your donations and ask that you give what you can to help fund the educational programs administered in the rich spirit of a woman who strove to spread the message “You Can Be Somebody”. Contributors of $35.00 or more will receive a copy of the full documentary. Of course all donations are appreciated and are tax deductable due to the Foundation's 501c status. The Anita Stroud Foundation and the youth who benefit from its programs, thank you very much for your continued support.
